One Quick Technique to Relieve a Panic Attack

What is a panic attack? A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger.

If you are unsure if you’re having one, here are the symptoms.

We know, they are not easy to deal with. When you’re having one it seems like there’s nothing that will help. But this one technique has helped us in our personal experiences.

It’s called ‘breathing into cupped hands.’

What to to do: cup both of your hands together, place them over your face covering your mouth and nose, take 6-8 natural breaths.

Why This Helps:

A major effect of having a panic attack is hyperventilating. This technique lets you balance your carbon dioxide levels helping you regain your breath, which will minimize those physiological feelings and will help slow down your mind.

Give this a try at the onset of your next panic attack. This will hopefully shorten the duration and lessen the intensity.
