What Is Anxiety
Occasional anxiety is a part of normal life. Someone worrying about having enough money to pay his/her bills is a normal/rational anxious thought.
The flip side, however, are anxiety disorders. The anxious thoughts caused by these disorders tend to stay on the mind for much longer. Sometimes getting worse over time. This is why it is important to start working on feeling better sooner rather than later.
There are a few different types of anxiety disorders.
Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Nervousness or restlessness
Fast heart rate
Rapid breathing
Sweating
Trembling
Weakness or fatigue
Trouble concentrating
Insomnia
Gastrointestinal (digestive) issues
Types Of Anxiety Disorders
Generalized Anxiety Disorder: You feel excessive, unrealistic worry with little or no reason.
Panic Disorder: You feel sudden, intense fear that brings on a panic attack.. During a panic attack you may break out in a sweat, have chest pain, and have a pounding heartbeat. Sometimes you may feel like you’re choking or having a heart attack.
Social Anxiety Disorder: You feel overwhelming worry about everyday social situations.
Specific Phobias. You feel intense fear of a specific object or situation, such as heights or flying.
