5 Grounding Techniques To Help Your Anxiety
Grounding techniques are very useful for individuals with anxiety. They’re great distractions for when your anxiety is overwhelming. Whenever you start feeling nervous or anxious, these are 5 great grounding exercises to help you out.
1- Alphabet Game
This one in particular has been one of our favorites. How to play: pick a random letter A-Z. Next, set a timer for 30-60 seconds. Then try to come up with as many words that begin with that letter. You can even play with a friend and see who can come up with the most words!
2- Watch Funny Videos
There are so many funny videos online. Laughing is a great cure for anxiety!
3- Read a Book
Try to get lost in a good book. This is a great technique because you have to focus on what you’re reading or else you wont understand what’s going on!
4- Try Some Yoga
There are many great yoga videos online that range from beginner to advanced. Here’s one to get you started!

5- Memory Games
All you need are a deck of cards!
Concentration is a great and easy memory game to play.
Total Recall
How to play: Stack the cards face down. Next, flip as many cards as you would like and put them in a line. Give yourself a few seconds to stare at the order of the cards. Now flip them all over. See if you can recall the correct card order including numbers and suits.
